I’ve been waiting for this one since Michelle from Michelle Patterns posted the preview months ago. I don’t even have an iPad, but my mom does and she’s been asking me to make a sleeve for it. I offered to make her one like I made for my Kindle and MacBook Air but she wasn’t sure, so I showed her this pattern and she really liked it. My mom picked out the fabric, she likes yellow and gray right now. My favorite thing is the covered button. The elastic is a piece of elastic headband, which are more flat than the standard hair elastics. I didn’t know how much stuff she’d put in here, so I filled it with some pens and my husband’s iPad and something about the size of a power brick before sewing on the button.
I used Soft and Stable to pad it. I wasn’t sure that would be a good idea, but since I knew she was going to put her iPad in it and I don’t love fusible fleece, I just went with it. I trimmed it out of the seams and it worked great. So, this was super, super easy to make. As in, I made this during #gdas on Twitter… which is Friday night “get drunk and sew.” So the last 75% of this was completed after a three shot margarita. If I can do that, you can certainly do it sans-margarita. :D
So full disclosure, since I love Michelle’s patterns so much, I signed up to be an affiliate for her. But I’ve been recommending Michelle’s patterns FOREVER, basically as long as I’ve been blogging about sewing, so this doesn’t change anything. I promise you won’t be disappointed by any of her patterns. I know, because I’ve made most of them! Go check them out! :)

I love Michelle’s patterns. This looks great. I love Soft and Stable. It’s good stuff. Love what you’ve done here!
Erin, Nice job. I really like this pattern and fabric.
