May is a crazy month for us. My birthday, my friend Lisa’s birthday, Mother’s Day and our wedding anniversary, all within 2 weeks. On top of it, my iMac that I use to do all of my photo editing and pattern writing has been downright unusable lately and we finally figured out what was wrong with it and fixed it, so that will help my productivity tremendously! On top of that, my friend Lisa and I decided to plan a last minute road trip to Canada in a couple weeks, so I’m excited about that and determined to get this entire To-Do list done before we leave.
The gadget sleeve pattern is in progress. I have sizes for a few of the Kindles, iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air. I have to finish taking the photos and writing it and then sew each size and make sure the pattern piece sizes I extrapolated from the Kindle are correct. :) I will include dimensions in the pattern so you can make one easily if your Nook is say, 1″ wider than one of the Kindles or something like that. But, if I’ve made a huge omission of a popular device, let me know. Just keep in mind I can’t possibly keep up with every Nook and Sony and all the sizes of cell phones out there so I stick to what I know. But I’m always up for suggestions, too!
Once I finish with that I want to make one of these bags for my trip, which will probably be a prototype for my next pattern. I’ll post any other travel-related stuff that I make – maybe pillows, a new camera strap cover, and maybe another smaller bag? I also finished my jeans except for the button and button hole, so I will post about that!
I have had a bunch of requests for a license for my Little Dog Tie tutorial and the iPhone sleeve, so I posted that if you’re interested.
What did I sew this week? Well, I managed to spill orange juice all over my wallet, so I had to make a new one (oh darn!) So since I need it *fast* and didn’t want to spend any time figuring it out, I grabbed my favorite Keyka Lou (now Michelle Patterns!) wallet pattern, the Simple Wallet, and printed it at 85% (80% works great too if you just want it for CC/biz cards) and I just used the larger pocket.

That’s it for now! I’m tempted to post a pattern sale until I finish my next one, both as a thank you and as some motivation for me to finish it. Post a comment on here or FB or send me a tweet and tell me if you want that! Or just tell me to hurry up with the new stuff already! ;)

Love the idea of the key fob cover. Mine has the same problem as yours. My car is thirteen now. I think I am going to have to make one of these covers.
Would love a pattern sale!! The same thing happened to my car remote! Your cover is genius! I just stopped using it!
I didn’t realize it was Sew Mama Sew giveaway day tomorrow, so perhaps I will give away a couple of gift certs and have a pattern sale! :D
I’m lovin’ that bag and am hoping to see a pattern someday!
Giveaways and sales are always great! :)
LOL. I know, me too! It will be sooner than someday now. I’ve been extra productive lately getting some huge projects finished so that I will be able to actually work on more patterns now! :)
Love the new bag. What are the dimensions? Bigger or smaller than the hipster?
It is definitely bigger, as in it holds more – because of the gusset. That’s why I want to make it for the trip! I think I will reduce the overall dimensions just slightly when I make another, but it will still be bigger. It would be nice to slip my laptop into but that weighs the whole thing down in an odd way so I don’t think that will factor into the size. Not sure yet!
Love that bag, will keep on the lookout for a pattern.
That is just what happened to me garage door fob! $50 for a new one. Not going to happen, so I made one of your ear bud case and have been using that instead. Will have to make one like yours.
Bag looks great, can’t wait for the pattern.
Will the sleeve have some kind of pocket on it? I have a Kindle, and have had a hard time finding a case for it with a pocket for the cord. I haven’t found a pattern to make one that has a pocket either. I like keeping the cord with my Kindle so it doesn’t get lost.
All the projects you’ve been doing are wonderful ~ really like the key chain pouch and the macbook cover (aka ~ every single device cover you could ask for). A pattern sale would be very generous!
Love Sammy’s top knot; if only my yorkie would let me do a top knot on her. Grr. And she doesn’t stand still for pictures either.
I just noticed your blog and I love the sewing ideas. I haven’t sewn since my oldest was born. (11 years ago) and I miss it. You’re giving me some inspirational ideas. I just wish I could balance all my other favorite hobbies with sewing again and with life.
Plus, your Yorkie’s a cutie pie. I’ve got three and like ADL says… I can’t get mine to stay still for photos either.
My car door opener did the same thing!! I crochet a holder and then made one out of oilcloth scraps I had. Both worked well for a while but I’m going to whip one of the fabric ones up and see how that works. My family just shakes thier heads at me when I do these kinds of things, but they can be exspensive to replace and it still works so why not right!! Thanks for the idea!! Diana
