Two Zip Hipster pattern is ready!

September 6, 2011
By Erin Erickson

It’s done! I think this pattern is literally a year in the making from when I made my first zippered hipster. I am so excited to have the pattern ready for you! So excited that the blog even got a complete re-design for the launch! Check out the entire new Pattern Shop and the Two Zip Hipster Pattern!

I’m working on a whole bunch of blog posts for this pattern. I’ve already posted the pieced strap tutorial, but I’ve got a few more planned. This is my favorite bag for any activity where I need to be hands free like shopping, festivals and walking the dogs. It will even hold my water bottle! I love having the front zip pocket to keep my phone easily accessible but safe and secure. The front slip pocket is the best for my keys and anything else I need to keep handy. The top zip is just awesome. It opens up WIDE so that if you leave it unzipped all the time, it does not get in your way at all. If you need everything to be secure, then zip it up! I explain all of the zipper steps with photos and specific instructions, and I’m here to help you if you need it. We are going to have a lot of fun with this one!

I love the harness I have a 2lb Chihuahua and can’t find a harness to fit her but this will work out great. Thank you for your website.

I bought this pattern and I’m really excited to make it! I’ve ordered my hardware and purchased my fabric, but, I’m wondering if I could make the strap only 1 inch thick. I have a similiar shaped bag with a cotton webbing strap, but I’ve only been able to find it in 1″ thickness. Will it ruin the bag to have it thinner?

Kammy – I emailed you. I think it would be fine to try a 1″ strap. It certainly wouldn’t ruin the bag, you just might not want to carry anything super heavy, but it’s not a huge bag anyway. :)
